SHIELD – Statement on Homes England Online Consultation

Chalgrove Airfield Action Group – Statement on Homes England Online Consultation.

For anyone who could not make the Homes England consultations earlier this month, you still have an opportunity to see the display boards and make your comments online at where there is a link to the proposals, and a link to an online consultation that will be open until August 10th.

The questionnaire opens with the statement: “If development proceeds at Chalgrove Airfield, what do you think the priorities should be?”. This is worded specifically to allow Homes England to demonstrate to the Planners and Inspector what the people of Chalgrove want. It uses empathetic language, but the concern must be that if everyone ticks “Housing for Families” as “Essential”, Homes England can go to the Inspector and say “This is what the people want”, ignoring the “If” in the opening statement.

It is entirely up to you how you respond to these questions, but none of the sections are mandatory, so you don’t actually have to fill any of them in. We would suggest that if you are not comfortable with the way your responses may be used, that you simply ignore these, and go to the “Other” section. This is a free-form text box, and you can write as much as you like in this section.

It is unclear if Homes England will accept any forms which do not have contact details included, so we would recommend that you complete at least some of this data.
