SODC’s Local Plan for New Houses and Employment
South Oxfordshire District Council has today published their latest version of their Local Plan for new houses and employment. Chalgrove airfield remains a preferred site for development.
The latest version of the Local Plan can be accessed online at
It is really important that as many people as possible read this latest version and then let the council know what they think. This new consultation will run for 7 weeks until Wednesday 17th May.
The development of Chalgrove Airfield is NOT a done deal. The plan has been amended since the last consultation and can be amended again, even right up to the time it is finally submitted for approval. Even then it will be subject to the scrutiny of Inspectors who may not agree with SODC’s proposals. The more people that respond the more weight will be added to any objections raised.
If you access the plan online you will be able to leave your views and comments. If you are not able to access the draft plan online there are four drop in events at the following venues and times:
Didcot: Cornerstone Arts Centre: Wednesday 5th April 1pm – 7pm
Wallingford: Regal Centre: Friday 7th April 3pm – 7pm
Thame: Thame Barn Centre: Saturday 8th April 10am – 4pm
Henley: The Christ Church Centre: Saturday 22nd April 10am – 4pm
Please do take the time to comment on the plan. It really can make a difference and is so very important. The proposal to build 3000 houses on the airfield in Chalgrove is not a done deal. This is your opportunity to have your say about housing in our area and to help shape the future of Chalgrove and surrounding areas.
